But in the context of this version of the story, Hansel and Gretel don't know that.Īnd they just take her treasure, to top it all off. Ladybird has published fairy tales for over forty-five years, bringing the. Nowhere does the witch tell Hansel and Gretel that she's going to eat them. And out of nowhere, Gretel just pushes the witch in.
